Ammonia and nitrous oxide emission factors for excreta deposited by livestock and land‐applied manure

چکیده

Manure application to land and deposition of urine dung by grazing animals are major sources ammonia (NH3) nitrous oxide (N2O) emissions. Using data on NH3 N2O emissions following land-applied manures excreta deposited during grazing, emission factors (EFs) disaggregated climate zone were developed, the effects mitigation strategies evaluated. The represent from cattle swine in temperate wet climates, include cattle, sheep, manure wet/dry tropical climates. EFs for broadcast solid slurry 0.03 0.24 kg NH3–N kg–1 total N (TN), respectively, whereas EF was 0.29. Emissions both reduced between 46 62% with low-emissions methods. Land climates had 0.005 0.011 N2O–N TN, dry 0.0031. 0.0095 0.002 which three times greater than sheep 0.0043 0.0005, respectively. use nitrification inhibitors manure, urine/dung, 45–63%. These enhanced can improve national inventories; however, more poorly represented regions (e.g., Asia, Africa, South America) needed.

Nitrous oxide emission by aquatic macrofauna.

A large variety of aquatic animals was found to emit the potent greenhouse gas nitrous oxide when nitrate was present in the environment. The emission was ascribed to denitrification by ingested bacteria in the anoxic animal gut, and the exceptionally high N(2)O-to-N(2) production ratio suggested delayed induction of the last step of denitrification. Filter- and deposit-feeding animal species s...

Reduction of the Livestock Ammonia Emission under the Changing Temperature during the Initial Manure Nitrogen Biomineralization

Experimental data were applied for the modelling optimal cowshed temperature environment in laboratory test bench by a mass-flow method. The principal factor affecting exponent growth of ammonia emission was increasing air and manure surface temperature. With the manure temperature increasing from 4°C to 30°C, growth in the ammonia emission grew fourfold, that is, from 102 to 430 mg m(-2)h(-1)....

P110: Nitrous Oxide and Neuroinflammation

Nitrous oxide was an anaesthetic gas that was used for many years. There were many anaesthetic drugs in operations  with many side effects. Nitrous oxide had some side effects too. But it was a safe gas in many times. In hospital personnel who worked in operating rooms exposure to this gas was important. The objective of this study was the introduction of nitrous oxide and neurologic side ...

Manure Management regarding Nitrogen Compounds

This chapter considers the emissions of ammonia (NH 3) and nitrous oxide (N 2 O) from the excreta of agricultural animals deposited in buildings and collected as either liquid slurry or solid manure. This includes emissions from animal excreta at all stages: animal housing, manure storage and from land spreading of manures. Excreta deposited in fields by grazing animals are dealt with under SNA...

Ammonia, methane, and nitrous oxide emission from pig slurry applied to a pasture in New Zealand.

Much animal manure is being applied to small land areas close to animal confinements, resulting in environmental degradation. This paper reports a study on the emissions of ammonia (NH3), methane (CH4), and nitrous oxide (N2O) from a pasture during a 90-d period after pig slurry application (60 m3 ha-1) to the soil surface. The pig slurry contained 6.1 kg total N m-3, 4.2 kg of total ammoniacal...
